Brown Bag Challenge Quick Start Instructions and Ideas

• Pick your day!
  The Brown Bag Challenge will run 12/7 – 12/12/2020. Pick a day or multiple days that work for you and your organization!
   
• Once You have picked your day(s) here are some easy ways to make it fun!
  • Use United Way Brown Bags to pass out to those that are participating!
    (send an email to wendi@unitedwaysei.org with the number of brown bags you would like!)
  • Set up a fun Brown Bag Challenge Display, include your plans to celebrate, UW brown bags, how individuals can donate!
  • Have participants take pictures of their creative brown bag lunches! You can even give prizes for the most creative, healthiest, or most disgusting!
  • Host a virtual Brown Bag lunch with employees through zoom! Play games or just have a fun social hour!
     
• Communicate! Send the message far and wide. Make sure everyone gets an opportunity to participate in the brown bag challenge.

Thanks for joining this fun grassroots Brown Bag Challenge by donating what you would normally spend on your coffee and lunch today and help lift up the families that were hit hardest in 2020.

Why Donate:

Prior to the pandemic, nearly 42% of families in SE Idaho were struggling to survive month to month. Currently non-essential and essential workers are still struggling to regain their footing. United Way of Southeastern Idaho supports local programs across our 7 county region that impact these families with basic needs, eviction avoidance, educational support, emergency housing, and health services.

Your $20 donation could...

• Provide one family a night’s shelter with meals
• Provide 3 students with weekend backpacks full of nutritious meals
• Provide 5 meals for a homebound senior
• Provide one week of dinners for a family of three in a domestic violence shelter
• Provide transportation for 10 visits to the Veterans Administration Clinic
• Provide 5 meals at a local soup kitchen.
• Provide activity supplies for one child enrolled in the Kindergarten Readiness group for an entire school year.
