Community investments in local human services programs
United Way of Southeastern Idaho helps to strengthen the community in a number of ways, including investing your dollars in effective local human services programs throughout the seven southeastern-most counties of Idaho (Bannock, Bear Lake, Binghan, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, Power) and the Fort Hall Indian Reservation.
Community Investments
United Way funds 35-40 programs (link to last year's funded partners) each year from unrestricted donations to the annual community giving campaign. The funds are invested across four areas of critical importance to the community as defined by its most recent community conditions assessment. Those issue areas are: Helping Children and Youth to Succeed, Health and Safety, Seniors, and Financial Stability & Self-sufficiency. This year, the community worked particularly hard to be sure that our region has a thriving community safety net as well as investments to stop problems before they can begin. About 35 United Way Community Investment Volunteers combined forces over three months to review 37 program applications, conduct an external financial review of each program, carry out site visits, and engage each applicant in a 30-minute panel hearing. Ultimately, Community Investment panels awarded $529,277 in program grants throughout the seven-county region.
The list of this year's United Way funded programs will be posted shortly.
